What do you like most about working at Peak Construction?
This probably gets said too often, but I love the culture at Peak Construction. It is a friendly, cooperative atmosphere where you don’t have to be afraid to give or receive help on any issue that may arise. The executives at Peak Construction, starting with Mike Sullivan Jr., are all extremely approachable and helpful, never making you feel like your opinions or your efforts aren’t important. Peak Construction is absolutely at the top of my list of the best places I’ve ever worked.

If you weren’t working in construction, what would you be doing?
Starving…actually, I would love to be a shark researcher. I am fascinated by sharks; they are so mysterious and powerful. Don’t bother me during shark week!

What is the best advice someone gave you?
I had a football coach tell me once, “If you’re going to make a mistake, make it an aggressive one.” Sometimes you can be frozen by indecision and you need to aggressively seek out a solution. This industry is filled with difficult decisions that are time sensitive. You can’t sit back and wait for something to happen.

What is your favorite project to date?
The Blue Ribbon Products beverage distribution facility in Joliet. This was such a fun project to work on because it had many elements; warehouse space, cooler space, office, a vault (yes, a vault — it’s for documents), and an awesome training room with a full service bar that I had a hand in designing. Don Londergon, the owner, is a fantastic guy and was great to work with. Who wouldn’t love constructing a project that gets filled with beer when you’re done?

What do you see yourself in 5 years?
Right here at Peak Construction, enjoying myself as much as I am now.

What is your personal motto?
Treat others as you would like to be treated, with respect and dignity.

What’s a surprising fact about you?
I sometimes sing guest lead vocals with a local band called the Creeky Timbers.

What’s your favorite hobby?
I have multiple hobbies including snowmobiling, golfing, watching sports and have recently picked up fishing in the backyard pond.
