We’re successful because of the team we’ve built. Meet Michael McCormack, Senior Project Manager in PEAK’s East Coast Office.
Michael may be new to PEAK, but he has already become an essential asset to the PEAK team. Michael is growing the PEAK East Coast presence and fits right into our “Do the Right Thing” culture. When Michael is not at PEAK, he spends his time outdoors, captaining boats and teaching the vacationers of the Poconos how to ski!
What do you like most about working at Peak?
I am new here at Peak and there are a lot of things that I like thus far. What stands out to me most is the quality of people that we have. Everyone I have met is knowledgeable, courteous, focused, seem to enjoy what they are doing and always willing to assist when needed.
What is one surprising fact about you that many don’t know?
I am also a licensed Coast Guard captain with a 100 ton master license and I help my friend run his family’s charter boat business in the summer and fall months. I am also A PSIA ski instructor in the Poconos on the weekends in the winter months.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
Anything outdoors; fishing, hunting, skiing.
What is the best advice someone gave you?
Never quit; when things get hard, get focused and keep trying until you get the result you desire.
What has been the most fun furthering building Peak’s East Coast presence?
Seeing and being a part of the projects that are being built and the opportunity to estimate and run my own projects.
Where do you see yourself if five years?
Hopefully, continuing to run projects and help establish Peak’s East Coast office while getting the opportunity to work with all of the great people we have on staff, as well as, continuing to build our presence and success here.
If you weren’t working in construction, what would you be doing?
I would be captaining a fishing boat in the Florida Keys.
What the motto you live by?
Sine Timor. It’s on my family coat of arms meaning “No fear”.
Overall vibe at Peak so far?
Everyone at Peak cares about the work they are doing and wants to make sure their projects are successful.
