Peak Construction Corporation was voted General Contractor of the Year at NAIOP Chicago’s prestigious 25th Annual Awards for Excellence on November 15, 2012 by the real estate professionals attending the event. Three of Peak’s largest and most successful projects of 2012, the Chicago Naperville Marriott Hotel, Edward Plainfield Medical Office Building and Parker Hannifin, were highlighted as part of the nomination. Judging criteria included total square-footage, total project cost and a brief description of the project. “While honored to just be nominated, we were thrilled Peak won the award. We were up against some truly skilled and talented companies and wish to extend our congratulations not only to other nominees in our category, but all nominees and winners at this year’s event,” Michael Sullivan, Jr., CEO and Co-Founder said.
As an added bonus, the Chicago Naperville Marriott Hotel was voted Innovative Deal of Year. As Design Builder on this project, Peak was pleased to share in this success with Developer Janko Group in conjunction with Heitman Capital Management and Bricton Hotel Group, Architect – Solomon Cordwell Buenz, Interior Designer – Simeone Deary Design Group, Lighting Designer – Lightswitch Architectural Lighting, Civil Engineer – Spaceco Inc., Marriott management and the entire project team. In addition to Innovative Deal of the Year, the Chicago Naperville Marriot Hotel Renovation also recently won Marriott International’s “Best Hotel Opening of the Year Award”, an award of Global distinction. Peak President, John Reilly, shared, “The Chicago Naperville Marriott redevelopment was a great accomplishment for all involved. We are glad the Marriott can add this honor to the many it is collecting.”
The annual Awards for Excellence event was held downtown at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers and boasted 950 in attendance. Each year NAIOP Chicago hosts the event to celebrate the year’s commercial real estate and development achievements and provide a showcase for its members to nominate outstanding projects and firms within various categories.
