Challenge: Design and construct a modern cleanroom inside an existing vacant industrial building to function as a uniform laundry processing facility to clean, prepare and return gowns and company uniforms for the medical and controlled manufacturing environment customers of Aramark.
Solution: Peak worked closely with a design firm to plan and construct a facility that produced both efficient employees and a uniform delivery process flow while incorporating cost effective electrical and process distribution networks. This very sensitive cleaning environment required the design and construction of rooms and spaces carefully controlled and protected from outside contaminants through special filtering, ventilation, and appropriately sealed penetrations.
Other important issues addressed with the project included an electrical service upgrade, modification of the roof to support process equipment and exhaust penetrations, additional exit doors installed into the exterior walls for emergency egress and upgrades to the sanitary sewer and building water service to support process cleaning equipment requirements.
