Challenge: Execute a deep renovation of a former Holiday Inn Select Hotel to a full service Marriott. Peak was uniquely responsible for Design, Engineering, Construction and FFE/OSE Procurement and Installation and challenged to complete all Design and Construction within a 14 month time-frame.
Solution: Peak successfully completed the 424 guest room, 275,000 sq. ft. complete site and building gut rehab/deep renovation of the largest full service hotel in western suburbs under a true design/build delivery model including all design, construction, FFE/OSE procurement and installation. Peak oversaw all facets of this project by working intimately with every team member and delivered it as a LEED Silver level project. Peak also provided ownership with over $1 million of savings to be reinvested as additional improvements in the existing facility and design enhancements to improve the guest experience based on ROI analysis. The project won Marriott International’s Hotel Opening of the Year 2012 as well as NAIOP Chicago’s Innovative Deal of the Year 2012 and was a highlighted project to help Peak Construction win NAIOP Chicago’s General Contractor of the Year 2012.
