Challenge: Peak was challenged with constructing the third building in a three-building industrial park developed on a MEC (Munitions and Explosives of Concern) brownfield site. Additionally, construction occurred during one the wettest Springs along with the onset of an early winter.
Solution: Peak worked with the Developer to understand the scope and complexity of the MEC site to establish safe and secure methods to commence construction. Those procedures were effectively communicated and implemented with the subcontractor and third-party teams. To further lessen complications associated with the MEC site, the project team adjusted the elevation of the site to eliminate soil haul-off. To combat the disagreeable weather the team lime-stabilized the pad to reduce delays. Subsequently, Peak developed a strong relationship with a new client based on communication and dynamic problem-solving.
